Est. 2026Clarity Over Consensus

A Disciplined Daily Brief for Serious People

About The Stovall Report

The Stovall Report (stovall.report) is an independent daily news briefing. Each morning it ranks ten stories from hundreds of publisher feeds by importance and credibility and explains each one from a classical-conservative, Catholic (Thomist, in the tradition of Leo XIII) editorial lens. Motto: Clarity over consensus. Story scores, board reasoning, historical context, what-to-watch notes and the audio narration are AI-assisted (drafted by AI models following a written editorial rubric) with editorial oversight by the publisher. Headlines link to the original publishers; The Stovall Report does not republish their article text.

What we publish

Each day's work is published in four places.

  • The Morning Edition — ten ranked stories, each with its scores and board reasoning, an audio narration, and a Saint of the Day. Every edition keeps a permanent, dated page.
  • The front page — a continuously re-ranked list of scored stories from the last three days, nationally and for Texas, with historical context and what to watch for each story.
  • Screwworm Watch — tracking of the New World screwworm's return to the United States: national detection totals, Texas response zones, a plan of action and a published methodology.
  • TX-23 — a daily local feed for Texas's 23rd Congressional District, with short resident briefs on what each story means locally.

The editorial lens

The Stovall Report reads the news from a classical-conservative, Catholic point of view: the natural-law philosophy of St. Thomas Aquinas, the Catholic social teaching of Pope Leo XIII, ordered liberty and fiscal discipline. The motto, “Clarity over consensus,” means saying plainly what a story is about and why it matters, even when that runs against the prevailing framing.

How it is made

Scores, reasoning, historical context, what-to-watch notes, the narration and the briefs are drafted by AI models following a written editorial rubric, with editorial oversight by the publisher. The full process — including the scoring formula and exactly what AI does — is set out on the editorial standards page.

What we are not

The Stovall Report is not a wire service and does not do original field reporting. It does not republish other publishers' article text: each ranked story links out to the original reporting, which is where the full facts are. What is ours is the ranking and the analysis.
